Monday night Tristan had his soccer league championship game. He was very pumped up about it. Apparently both teams had the same number of points at the end of the season, so they needed to play each other one more time to determine the champions. It was a very intense, yet a scoreless game. There were many close calls for both sides, but both goalies and defenders on each team were doing amazing jobs protecting the goals. The game ended up going into 2 5-minute overtimes. It was not sudden death...they would play out the clock. Near the end of the 2nd 5 mintue overtime, Tristan was seriously tripped up by 2 of the players from the other team, which awarded his team an opportunity to take a penalty kick. Tristan's team member took the penalty kick, and with a little help from another team member at the goal, a point was scored!! The other team didn't have time to score, so Tristan's team took the championship! It was a great game and very fun to watch. Way to take one for the team, Tristan!!!
