Last week we were able to have a couple of visitors for the week. My best friend from middle school, Mallory, came to visit with her husband. Mallory moved to upstate New York in the middle of 8th grade, and then to New Jersey her junior year of high school. She would periodically visit Kansas City, so I got to see her often. Unfortunately we hadn't seen each other for almost 10 years, so we were SOO excited to be reunited. Her husband, Brian, interviewed for the Pediatric residency program at Vanderbilt, so that was the real purpose of the visit. We did a lot of touristy things that I hadn't gotten to do yet, so it was new for everyone. We did 2 Civil War tours, and by the end of the 2nd one, Addi had absolutely had it....poor thing, but she was a pretty good sport. We also toured the Grand 'ole Opry, and of course, I took Mallory to The Stage with me and a few girlfriends Tuesday night to see Savannah Jack. Adelaide and Alicia really enjoyed Brian's company. He is great with kids and humored them with all of their tv shows, toys, and games. Addi even managed to get him to read her books every night before bed....quite cute. The only way to make it all perfect is for them to match at Vanderbilt so we could enjoy their company on a more regular basis....as opposed to every 10 years!!!
Addi and Brian at dinner one night. We went to a little Mexican restaurant close by. The most memorable moment was when Mallory asked to have the leftover food boxed and so when they brought her a couple boxes she goes, "What? I have to box it myself?" We all died laughing and I told her the east coast has ruined her! She needs some good country livin'!!! Nashville is the only way to go, Mal!!!!

Does Addi let you flat-iron her hair? It is so cute! Lily gets bored waiting for me to finish curling her hair.
