A Blessed Day

We had a busy weekend with a few monumental events. We blessed Avery Marie during church on Sunday. Daniel gave her a beautiful blessing and she looked gorgeous in her blessing dress (of which Addi told her teachers was "too big" for Avery....she couldn't figure out why it was SO long...she thought it should have been for her, not Avery...although it is the same dress Addi was blessed in...my mother-in-law made it). We weren't able to have any family here, so we had a circle made of 5 of our close friends and the bishop. It was very special. The part of the blessing that stuck out to me was that people will see the light that emits from her heart and they will admire her and look to her as a great example.

So cute, right??? Her new trick is rolling over.....and yesterday Adelaide had her truly giggling. Best sound ever!

After church, we had some friends over to celebrate Daniel's 32nd birthday (I think the final number was 50...including kids). We had a backyard BBQ (because it has FINALLY warmed up here!) with beef kabobs, hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, and yummy veggie skewers. Our friends all brought side dishes...it was an amazing spread. Afterwards, Daniel was so grateful and felt so loved. We are so lucky and blessed to have such great friends. What is even more amazing, is that we could have easily doubled our numbers, but seriously....I can only handle so much chaos!!!

Daniel's cake....so creative, right?? I totally didn't make it. Our friend, Cassy did. She is a very creative cake maker! It was even red velvet...so fitting...super good.
