Saturday concluded Tristan's 3rd basketball season. His team was full of younger players and were nick-named the "Underdogs" since they never won a game. At least the amount of points they lost by decreased with every game, so that was great improvement. Tristan had a lot of fun and I think enjoyed being one of the better players on the team. He was on a team of older boys last year, so that really helped him devolop his skills more, but his year was great for his confidence. He was well-liked by all his teammates, and they all learned how to play as a team. Earlier this week was the elementary school Science Fair. The 5th graders are required to participate, whereas it is optional for everyone else. So Tristan did an evaporation experiment. He had 5 vials of water with different varients; sugar, salt, oil, a vial with a lid, and a vial with plain H2O without a lid. Wouldn't you know it, but oil slows down evaporation more than putting a lid on a container? Anyway, he made this poster himself and took it to school to be judged. We were supposed to go to the school for the awards that evening, (I made dinner an hour early so we could go) but Tristan didn't want to go for some reason. Well, he comes home the next day from school with a blue ribbon because he got 4th place in his class!!!! We were very impressed! And then I really felt bad for not making him go to the awards, but oh well! Needless to say, Tristan has had a pretty good week!

Way to go Tristan! I love science experiments, this one sounds like it was a great idea!
Way to go Tristan! The kids love looking at your blog. Seth was intrigued by Tristan's picture with the basketball. He is all boy and always has some sort of ball in his hand these days. Although he tells us he is going to be a baseball player!
