Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday. We drove straight to Kansas City the evening of Thursday, Dec 21, (arrived at 3am on Friday) stayed there until mid-day on Christmas Day, when we headed to Chanute, Kansas (2 hrs south of KC) to visit Daniel's grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles. We stayed there for dinner or supper, or whatever they call the mid-day meal (we can never get it right...we're just a bunch of city slickers), and then headed to the Lake to spend a few days at Daniel's parent's house. That is when Daniel left to come back to Nashville to work, and I took the kids back to Kansas City for a few days, and then over to St. Louis for New Year's, and then made the 5 hour drive home in time to give the kids a few days to relax and play with all of their Christmas gifts before school started today. We had a great trip overall. The kids love to visit family and to play with their cousins. Alicia was especially excited to play with Ryan, (Daniel's brother, Jared's little girl) who is 2 1/2. We tried to get a picture of them together, but Ryan was ready for a nap, and wasn't too interested in getting her picutre taken.

Now we are getting back into the routine of school and homework. Adelaide has been cutting teeth ever since we left on vacation. One tooth has cut through, but she's still working on another, so she's had some miserable days, but hopefully this stinkin' tooth will break through soon!

You can see more Christmas photos and even a video clip that is quite entertaining on Cari and Seth's blog. Just click the link on the right side of my blog.

(making gingerbread cookies...a new Guenther tradition)

(Daniel and Tristan built a Lego Temple in KC...note the "Angel Moroni" on top)

(Adelaide loved to climb IN the toy tupperware and throw all the toys out, so I was sure to get her her own toy tupperware here at home...it keeps her occupied for quite a while!)
